Wind and percussion instruments
The “Blowing and Knocking Instruments” Department opened from the first day of the establishment of the Turkmen State School of Music (TDSM). The purposeful and productive years of work of this department date back to the 60s and 70s.
At present, specialists are being trained in flute, oboe, trumpet, tuba, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trombone, saxophone, xylophone, and percussion instruments in the field of “Blowing and Knocking Instruments”. The duration of the study is 3 years and 10 months.
In the conditions of modern development, with the increasing demands for cultural and mass activities and creative areas of the music system, the main tasks of professionals are to improve this area of culture, to form the national and classic features of cultural and mass activities and concerts.
A professional should be a person with thorough scientific and practical training, who has mastered his profession, who strives to constantly expand and deepen his knowledge and horizons, and who is able to work together with the publi. The main task of the department is to teach the student the fundamentals of general humanities subjects, to teach the basics of general and theoretical lessons, to teach children to perform group musical works, to be professional teachers in children's art and music schools, to teach professional subjects according to modern methods and to give them a perfect education so that they can grow up to be useful people for society, to perform in concerts and to publicize, organize technical works related to music, conducting music for blowing instruments, evaluating performance and artistry, preparing students for concerts, auditions, competitions, and keeping records.
Professionals are trained to work in teaching professional subjects in children's music-art secondary schools, management of cultural recreation institutions in the field of art and education and organization of cultural and public events of the country, speaking on performing arts according to modern methods.
Graduates of the department are given the profession of orchestra artist, orchestra conductor, children's music teacher, art school teacher. After completing their education, children are given the right to work in music, art schools, and orchestras in institutions belonging to the Culture system.
