A musical and cultural event dedicated to the Independence of Turkmenistan was held in Astrakhan
On September 25, a musical and cultural event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence was held at the Caspian Institute of Maritime and River Transport named after General Admiral F.M. Apraksin. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by the Consul of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan), representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Astrakhan Region and the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Astrakhan Region, as well as faculty and students of the institute. Students from the Makhtumkuli Fragi Secondary School in the village of Funtovo also participated. In his speech, Consul G. Ilamanov spoke to the participants about the importance of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, the great achievements and successes of independent Turkmenistan over the past 34 years, and the significance of the recent meeting of the People's Council of Turkmenistan. He also provided an overview of Turkmen-Russian relations in science, education, culture, and humanitarian affairs.
The event then continued with poetry readings, performances of Turkmen folk songs, and music on the national musical instrument, the dutar. The event concluded with a Turkmen national dance, the kushtdepdi.
As part of the cultural event, the Consul of Turkmenistan and Director of the Khazar Institute, O. Kartashova, held an introductory meeting with students from Turkmenistan studying at this institution of higher education.
