Days of Culture of Turkmenistan opened in Baku
The opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, AZERTAC reports.
In his speech, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Culture Murad Huseynov noted the shared history and cultural roots of the two peoples. "The high level of relations between the two countries creates favorable conditions for closer acquaintance between peoples, expanding mutual cultural exchange, and implementing joint projects in the future," he emphasized.
Turkmenistan's Deputy Minister of Culture Nursakhet Shirimov noted that the event serves to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries. He expressed hope for the further expansion of cultural cooperation.
Academician Isa Habibbayli, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, stated that the cultures of the two peoples, which have developed over millennia based on shared historical roots, remain interconnected today.
During the opening ceremony, guests were treated to a photo exhibition showcasing the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, along with examples of national costumes, works of decorative and applied art, and museum exhibits. A concert featuring Turkmen dances and musical performances was also held.
The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan will run until October 15. Events will be held in Baku and Ganja.
